"The Project That Brought me to Spain with Support of the Entrepreneur Law 14/2013. A Great, Rare and Valuable International Entrepreneur Mobility Experience."

The challenge: Create a scalable reward system to monetize tourists that visit the POIs on any auto-guided route available in the Application that also uses an Augmented Reality scavenger hunting model to motivate the visitors to keep visiting landmarks in the city.

The Solution: We developed a SmartMap feature and a virtual currency wallet that rewards the user automatically when they reach all POIs in all routes. The geofences algorithm was injected in more than 900 POIs Barcelona’s landmarks across the SmartMaps feature. The virtual currency is stored in the wallet. The tourist can then exchange the virtual currency for real-world products.

The Result: The Project was granted with the Favorable Report from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism from the Spanish Government to be deployed in Spain as a positive economic and social impact. Passport AR fights against overtourism when the routes generated are spread all over the city suggesting less visited places but also very interesting ones. Actually, Passport AR has more than 45K virtual currencies distributed between more than 1500 visitors in Barcelona and Ibiza.
