The Challenge: When we discovered by the first time AR portals we started to test how deep this can technique can go. We dive into many tests around this tech and then we decided to develop an app with a limited number of AR Portals Experiences with the technology available.
The solution: At the time ARFoudations weren’t available yet, so we used ARKit SDK and created an APP with 4 portals in the first version and 9 portals in the second version.
The Results: The magic portals reached the mark of 4000 downloads in the first month back in 2017, and actually count more than dozens of thousands of downloads for iOS only app. Magic Portals was the starting point for the PortsyAR development.
